W.A.L.T: Describe the traits of an effective leader.
During the past week rooms twenty five, twenty six and twenty seven have been learning about the traits of an effective leader. We read a couple of journals and answered some questions about how the characters showed the leadership trait.
Here is an example of one of the templates I filled out with a buddy after we read The Ant Army:
Leadership Trait
Example of this trait
Why is this an example of this trait
Integrity
The leader and the rest of the ants were all being honest with each other
They could trust each other because they knew that everyone was trustworthy so they could be honest with each other
Trustworthy
They were being trustworthy because they were following their leader’s orders.
They trusted their leader and followed her orders
Resilient
The ants showed Resilience by not giving up even when they were about to get trampled.
This shows resilience because they didn’t give.
Active Thinker
They were being active thinkers by going for the food that was easiest to get.
This shows active thinking by checking to see if the lunch box was open in the bag on the ground instead of going for a different bag.
Goal Focused
The ants were focused on their goal and kept on going.
This shows they are goal focussed because they were aiming for their goal and nothing else.
Motivational
They were motivational because they might motivate people to try their best.
This shows that they are motivational because they might inspire others.
